Employee Ownership

Employee owned. Built for the long term.

VOLLERS is 100 percent employee owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), effective January 1, 2024.

Employee ownership installs a long-term view of the work: care about the oucome, understand how your decisions affect the people and work around you, use resources responsibly, and think about what comes next.

Our Ownership Story

Family founded. Employee owned.

VOLLERS was founded as a family business in 1949 and remained family owned through the end of 2023. In 2024, ownership transitioned to employees through the ESOP.

The ownership structure changed. The company continues through the people doing the work today and those who will shape what comes next.

What It Means Here

Think beyond the immediate task.

At VOLLERS, employee ownership is intended to reinforce a broader view of the work: understand what you are responsible for, consider how your decisions affect the people and work around you, and keep the long-term health of the project and company in mind.

See what comes next.

A decision on one part of the work can affect what happens next. Consider the broader project, the team around you, and the consequences beyond the task at hand.

Use judgment. Bring solutions.

Identify issues early, communicate directly, understand the consequences, and help move the work toward a practical solution within the responsibility of the role.

Take care of what the work depends on.

Time, materials, equipment, quality, coordination, and avoidable rework all matter. Treat those resources as things worth protecting.

Work as part of the whole.

Share information, support the people around the work, and keep the long-term health of the project and company in view.

In the Work

Good decisions belong close to the work.

At VOLLERS, people are expected to identify issues early, communicate directly, bring practical solutions, use judgment within their role, and follow through.

Decisions should stay as close to the work as practical when the people involved have the responsibility and authority to make them, and move up when the consequences require it.

For Clients and Project Partners

A long-term perspective on the work.

For clients and project partners, employee ownership helps explain the perspective VOLLERS asks people to bring to the work: care about the outcome, understand the consequences of decisions, use resources responsibly, support the broader team, and think beyond the immediate assignment. For clients and project partners, employee ownership provides context for the perspective VOLLERS wants people to bring to their roles: care about the outcome, understand the consequences of decisions, steward resources, support the broader team, and think beyond the immediate assignment.

Employee ownership is part of the company story. The proof of how VOLLERS performs is in the work itself.
